JSON Lens — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-06-20 · Dolphin Studio LLC, Wisconsin, USA

Short version: JSON Lens collects nothing, sends nothing, and asks for no permissions. It only reformats a JSON document that your browser is already displaying, entirely on your device.

Data we collect

None. JSON Lens does not collect, store on our servers, transmit, sell, or share any personal or usage data. It requests no permissions and no host permissions in its manifest. It makes no network requests of any kind.

How it works

JSON Lens runs a content script that checks whether the page you opened is a raw JSON document. If it is, the extension parses that text locally in your browser and replaces it with a readable, collapsible viewer. The JSON it reads is content you navigated to yourself; it is never sent anywhere, never logged, and never leaves your device. On any page that is not JSON, the extension does nothing.

Clipboard

When you click a copy button (copy JSON, copy value, or copy path), the result is placed on your system clipboard only. JSON Lens does not read your clipboard.

Third parties & analytics

None. No analytics, no ads, no trackers, no external SDKs, no remote code.
